Summer is almost over. School is back in session. Labor Day has come and gone.
This means more traffic on the roads. School Busses, parents dropping off kids, novice drivers, Friday night football and more.
While you are out on your motorcycle, stay alert. Please be Safe.
Inspect your bike before every ride – Make sure your tires are properly inflated; check your fluids, controls, and lights. Check for loose fasteners; the vibrations generated from your engine can literally shake your bike apart. Take a moment to make sure things are properly torqued.
Wear your Safety Gear – Your cool helmet and jacket won’t do you any good if you aren’t wearing them.
Stay Cool – Don’t trust the other driver to do the right thing. Riding a motorcycle is not about being right. There are careless people out there; and you will have close calls with them every time you ride. It can be frustrating when you get cut off; but it is still the better to stay cool and steer clear of the careless drivers. Making it back home is far more important than proving that you had the right of way.
Accidents rarely result from only one variable – Often, there are several factors coming together to form the perfect storm. By taking a moment to inspect your bike, staying alert of what is going on around you while you are riding, and keeping your cool can greatly reduce your chances of being involved in an accident.
Honda East Toledo cares about powersport and motorcycle riders. Whether you ride a big cruiser, a sport bike, or a scooter, We want you to get out and ride; and return home safely to ride again another day.
